I worked as a photographer for the British Army in the 1980s. Much of my work was carried out in bleak, security conscious surroundings shooting our nations enemies with a Nikon FM loaded with Ilford HP5 film, often pushed to its limits.
I was demobbed in 1988 but returned to photography during the Millennium year when my wife gave me a Samsung Digimax 210SE for Christmas . That same year I met up with my father who I had not seen since 1981, he gave me a Fujica ST709, when I said that I was thinking of buying an SLR.
Dad is a trackside photographer for the short circuit, covering the sport for his business Fotosport.net. In early 2002 he asked me if I would be interested in helping cover Swaffham Raceway for Spedeworth; I said yes, he gave me a Cannon EOS 50E with a Cannon EF 35-80mm 1:4-5.6 USM lens. Later he sold me his Cannon D30, which is the camera I mainly use today; I've added a Cannon 100-300mm 1:4.5-5.60 USM, and a Sigma 28-200mm 1:3.8-5.6 lenses.
My recent photographic work includes: Fotosport.net - Design, build and maintenance of website, and photography; Short Circuit Magazine - Article, Madgewick In Upbeat Mood, May 2003 Issue; Trackside photographer - 2003 coverage of Swaffham Raceway for Fotosport.net.
I live in Stevenage, England and maintain this website as a hobby using Net Objects Fusion 7. The site style is inspired by Time Out’s Film Guide 2004.
